Kapono souza

Kapono is a Lomilomi Practitioner and Medical Massage Therapist (MMT) with more than 20 years of experience. Born and raised in Hawaiʻi, he comes from a long line of healing, music and art practitioners. At a very young age, his tutu wahine (grandmother) shared the art of lomilomi with him, traditional ʻike (knowledge) which he now shares with a new generation of students.

As one of Hawaiʻi’s most innovative marital bodyworkers, Kapono’s holistic and evidence-based approach to wellness helps patients achieve positive outcomes to chronic and acute conditions while substantially improving their quality of life.  With a thriving practice, KS Medical, Kapono teaches workshops in Hawaiʻi, the continental U.S. and internationally.

Kara Lauren

Kara is a certified yoga instructor, YogaWorks and Yoga Alliance 200 hr. RYT, having studied under Patric Pop at Innercity Yoga in Switzerland and with Joan Hyman in the United States. Her background includes hatha yoga with Iyenar-based alignment and intelligent sequencing. Her studies have spanned asana, philosophy, physiology, Ayurvedic principles, meditation and kirtan chanting. In addition to yoga, Kara has studied earth medicine and reiki, and currently leads private yoga sessions and circles. Serving as a writer and editor for various wellness journals and publications, her background includes a career as a creative director and brand strategist.
